School Opening Date for the 2025 / 2026 Academic Session

The school session for the 2025 / 2026 academic session will begin on the following dates as announced by the Ministry of Education:

• Group A: 16 February 2025 (Schools in the states: Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu)
• Group B: 17 February 2025 (Schools in the states: Melaka, Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor, WP Kuala Lumpur, WP Labuan and WP Putrajaya)

School Calendar & Holiday Dates for the 2025 / 2026 School Session

The following is the school calendar for the 2025 / 2026 school session announced by the Ministry of Education.

Group A

Group A This consists of schools in the states of Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu.

• Start date of the 2025 / 2026 school session: February 16, 2025
• Term 1 Holidays: 29 May 2025 – 9 June 2025
• Term 2 Holidays: 12 September 2025 – 20 September 2025
• Final holidays of the 2025 / 2026 school session: December 19, 2025 – January 10, 2026

Group B

Group B This consists of schools in the states of: Melaka, Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor, WP Kuala Lumpur, WP Labuan and WP Putrajaya.

• Start date of the 2025 / 2026 school session: February 17, 2025
• Term 1 Holidays: 29 May 2025 – 9 June 2025
• Term 2 Holidays: September 13, 2025 – September 21, 2025
• Final holidays of the 2025 / 2026 school session: December 20, 2025 – January 11, 2026

Festive Holidays for Session 2025 / 2026

The following are the festive holidays for the 2025 / 2026 school session announced by the MOE through the Academic Calendar (Amendment) on the official MOE portal.

• Chinese New Year Celebration 2025 – 29 and 30 January 2025 (During the Final School Holidays of the 2024/2025 Session)
• Festival of Intensity (Sabah and Federal Territory of Labuan only) – 30 and 31 May 2025 (During Term 1 Holiday, Session 2025/2026)
• Dayak Gawai Day Celebration (Sarawak only) – 1 and 2 June 2025 (During Term 1 Holiday, Session 2025/2026)
• Christmas Day Celebration – 25 December 2025 (During the Final School Holiday of the 2025/2026 Session)
