School holidays in Sabah are according to the academic calendar set by the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE). Since Sabah practices weekend holidays on Saturdays and Sundays, the school schedule for the state under the Group B category is slightly different from the MOE calendar for other states under the Group A category.

These holidays give students time to relax, travel, and participate in extracurricular activities. In addition to term & year-end holidays, public holidays and festive holidays such as Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Chinese New Year, and Deepavali also lead to additional days off for students and teachers.
