The Sultan of Terengganu's Birthday Celebration in Terengganu represents a very important cultural event that helps unite the diverse communities of the state in honouring their royal leader.
The annual celebration on April 26 is one proof of the important role of Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin as the head of state and religious leader in Terengganu.
This celebration also helps strengthen cultural ties while highlighting to the people the Sultan's contribution in preserving Islamic values and Malay traditions.
As chairman of the Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council before his ascension as Sultan of Terengganu in 1988, Sultan Mizan's leadership continued to shape the state's cultural landscape.
