Sultan Muhammad V was born on 6 October 1969, is the 29th Al-Sultan of Kelantan since ascending the throne on 13 September 2010.

All students in Malaysia will enjoy the Sultan of Kelantan's Birthday 2026 holiday based on their school group in 2026. These dates will help students, parents and even teachers plan their celebrations and travel arrangements effectively.

(Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu)

- School holiday in Kelantan only. Normal school day for other states on that day. No additional holidays

Group B

(Mellaka, Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor, WP Kuala Lumpur, WP Labuan and WP Putrajaya)

29 September 2026 (Tuesday) & 30 September 2026 (Wednesday) – Regular school days in all states. No additional holidays.

Celebration of the Sultan of Kelantan's Birthday in Malaysia

The Sultan of Kelantan's Birthday Celebration marks the birthday of Sultan Muhammad V, who ascended the throne on 13 September 2010, becoming the 29th Sultan of Kelantan.

He is the eldest son of the 28th Al-Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Ismail Petra and the Raja Perempuan Tengku Anis. He has 3 younger siblings, namely Tengku Muhammad Fa-iz Petra, Tengku Muhammad Fakhry Petra and Tengku Amalin A'ishah Putri.

His Majesty received his early education at Fatima Convent kindergarten and Sekolah Kebangsaan Sultan Ismail (1), Kota Bharu before continuing his studies at Alice Smith School, Kuala Lumpur. He then went to England to continue his studies at Oakham School Ruthland until 1989. He then continued his studies at St Cross College, Oxford and the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies for diplomatic studies. He graduated in 1991.

On the day of the Sultan of Kelantan's birthday celebration, various state events are held including flag-raising ceremonies, official functions, exhibitions and so on led by the Sultan and state dignitaries.
