All students in Malaysia will enjoy the Sultan of Selangor's Birthday 2025 holiday based on their school group in 2025. These dates will help students, parents, and even teachers plan their celebrations and travel arrangements effectively.

(Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu)

11 December 2025 (Thursday) – Regular school day on that day. No additional holidays.

Group B

(Mellaka, Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor, WP Kuala Lumpur, WP Labuan and WP Putrajaya)

11 December 2025 (Thursday) – School holiday in Selangor only. Normal school day for other states on that day. No additional holiday

If you plan ahead, keep in mind that the school will follow the government's public holiday schedule without additional holidays.

Celebration of the Sultan of Selangor's Birthday in Malaysia

Every year on December 11, the state of Selangor celebrates the birthday of the Sultan of Selangor, in honour of the state's head of government.

The current Sultan of Selangor is : HIS HOLINESS SULTAN SHARAFUDDIN IDRIS SHAH ALHAJ IBNI ALMARHUM SULTAN SALAHUDDIN ABDUL AZIZ SHAH ALHAJ

His Majesty Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj was proclaimed the 9th Sultan of Selangor on 22 November 2001, corresponding to 6 Ramadhan 1422 Hijrah.

His Majesty's birthday was officially set on December 11, the same date every year, and declared a state holiday for the people of Selangor.

The Sultan serves as the head of the state of Selangor and the head of the Islamic religion of the state of Selangor.

In 2016, His Majesty married Her Royal Highness the Queen Mother of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Hajah Norashikin at the Royal Palace Mosque, Istana Alam Shah, Klang.

The celebration of the Sultan of Selangor's birthday and school and public holidays strengthen the relationship between the monarchy and the people of Selangor.
