The date of the Sultan of Kedah's Birthday 2025, the celebration of the Sultan of Kedah's Birthday, school holidays and public holidays, reminds us that the state of Kedah celebrates the Sultan of Kedah's Birthday, in honor of the head of the state government.
The Sultan of Kedah's Birthday is declared a public holiday in the state of Kedah and is celebrated every year. It is a time of pride in heritage and celebration for the people of Kedah.
The current Sultan of Kedah is His Majesty Al-Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin Ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah, the 29th Sultan of Kedah. His Majesty has reigned since 12 September 2017 and was installed as Sultan of Kedah on 22 October 2018.

The Sultan of Kedah's Birthday commemorates the official birthday of His Majesty Al-Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin Ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah. He is the 29th Sultan of Kedah. The Sultan of Kedah's Birthday is a time of pride in heritage and celebration for the people of Kedah.
On 12 September 2017, Sultan Sallehuddin was proclaimed as the 29th Sultan of Kedah. The proclamation was made in accordance with Article 17 of the Kedah Constitution following the death of his elder brother, the late Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah at Istana Anak Bukit on 11 September 2017.
The announcement of the new Sultan of Kedah was made by the Honorable Menteri Besar of Kedah, Dato' Seri DiRaja Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah at the Balairung Seri, Istana Anak Bukit. The decision to appoint him as the new Sultan of Kedah was made by the Kedah State King Appointment Meeting.
Sultan Sallehuddin was born on April 30, 1942 in Alor Setar, Kedah.
Known for his progressive vision and outspoken leadership, Sultan Sallehuddin played a significant role in modernizing Kedah while upholding its deep-rooted royal traditions.
