School Opening Date for the 2024 / 2025 Academic Session

The school session for the 2024 / 2025 academic session will begin on the following dates as announced by the Ministry of Education:

• Group A: 10 March 2024 (Schools in the states: Johor, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu)
• Group B: 11 March 2024 (Schools in the states: Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor, WP Kuala Lumpur, WP Labuan and WP Putrajaya)

School Calendar & Holiday Dates for the 2024 / 2025 School Session

The following is the school calendar for the 2024 / 2025 school session announced by the Ministry of Education.

Group A

Group A This consists of schools in the states of Johor, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu.

• Start date of the 2024 school session / 2025: March 10, 2024
• Term 1 Holidays: 24 May 2024 – 2 June 2024
• Term 2 Holidays: September 13, 2024 – September 21, 2024
• Term 3 Holidays: December 20, 2024 – December 28, 2024
• End of session break schooling 2024 / 2025: 17 January 2025 – 15 February 2025

Group B

Group B This consists of schools in the states of: Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor, WP Kuala Lumpur, WP Labuan and WP Putrajaya.

• Session start date schooling 2024 / 2025: March 11, 2024
• Term 1 Holidays: 25 May 2024 – 2 June 2024
• Term 2 Holidays: September 14, 2024 – September 22, 2024
• Term 3 Holidays: December 21, 2024 – December 29, 2024
• End of session break schooling 2024 / 2025: 18 January 2025 – 16 February 2025

Festive Holidays for Session 2024 / 2025

The following are the festive holidays for the 2024 / 2025 school session announced by the MOE through the Academic Calendar (Amendment) on the official MOE portal.

• Chinese New Year Celebration 2024 – 10 and 11 February 2024 (During the Final School Holidays of the 2023/2024 Session)
• Festival of Intensity (Sabah and Federal Territory of Labuan only) – 30 and 31 May 2024 (During Term 1 Holiday, Session 2024/2025)
• Dayak Gawai Day Celebration (Sarawak only) – 1 and 2 June 2024 (During Term 1 Holiday, Session 2024/2025)
• Christmas Day Celebration – 25 December 2024 (During the 2024/2025 School Holidays)
