The Birthday of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sabah or the Birthday of the Governor of Sabah, is a state public holiday celebrated every year in Sabah. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The birthday of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sabah commemorates the official birthday of Tun Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Musa bin Haji Aman or better known simply as Tun Musa Aman, who hails from Beaufort, Sabah Borneo, East Malaysia. It is a time of pride and celebration for the people of Sabah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was appointed as the Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sabah on 1 January 2025 and is the 11th Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sabah. The holder of the position of Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sabah is appointed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong after receiving advice from the Chief Minister of Sabah and advice from the leading voices of the Sabah people. Tun Musa Aman was appointed in accordance with Article 1 of the Sabah State Constitution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Known for his progressive vision and outspoken leadership, Tun Musa Aman has played a significant role in modernizing Sabah while upholding deep-rooted Sabahan traditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Yang di-Pertua Negeri, or Governor, serves as the ceremonial head of state in Sabah. Unlike states with hereditary rulers, Sabah, as a non-monarchy, appoints its head of state, the Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sabah, every four years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Until 2025, the position is held by Tun Juhar Mahiruddin, who has served since 2011.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the occasion of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sabah Day, honours and titles are bestowed upon individuals who have rendered services to the state. Individuals who have rendered services are recognized with titles, medals and awards bestowed by the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sabah. Individuals from various sectors receive titles and medals for their outstanding contributions to Sabah and the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
